Yuya Mizuno
1998年東京都生まれ。2025年第76回プラハの春国際音楽コンクール・チェロ部門にて、アジア人として初の優勝を果たし、あわせて4つの特別賞を受賞。
第89回日本音楽コンクール第1位、岩谷賞（聴衆賞）、黒栁賞、徳永賞、そして全部門を通じて最も印象的な演奏に贈られる増沢賞を受賞。第13回東京音楽コンクール第1位および聴衆賞、第23回コンセール・マロニエ21第1位、2024年エンリコ・マイナルディコンクール第1位など、国内外の主要コンクールで高い評価を得る。
プラハ交響楽団、東京交響楽団、東京フィルハーモニー交響楽団、日本フィルハーモニー交響楽団、読売日本交響楽団、大阪交響楽団、京都市交響楽団などと共演。ソリストとしての活動に加え、国内外でのリサイタルや室内楽公演、国際音楽祭への出演など、ヨーロッパと日本を中心に幅広い演奏活動を展開。 ドイツ・ドレスデン音楽祭、リヒテンシュタイン国際音楽アカデミー、草津夏期国際音楽アカデミーなどよりスカラシップを受けマスタークラスに参加。ローム ミュージック ファンデーション、江副記念リクルート財団奨学生。
桐朋学園大学ソリスト・ディプロマ・コースを特待生として修了後、ハンガリー・リスト・フェレンツ音楽大学にてミクローシュ・ペレーニに、ザルツブルク・モーツァルテウム大学にてクレメンス・ハーゲンに師事し、修士課程を修了。 2023年、NOVA Recordより「水野優也×反田恭平 コダーイ：無伴奏チェロ・ソナタ＆ショパン：チェロ・ソナタ」でCDデビュー。同年、オクタヴィア・レコードより高崎芸術劇場でのライヴを収録したCDもリリース。
現在、ジャパン・ナショナル・オーケストラのコアメンバーとしても活動中。使用楽器は、1710年製 PIETRO GIACOMO ROGERI（公益財団法人サントリー芸術財団）、弓はF.TOURTE（住野泰士コレクション）を、それぞれ貸与されている。
In 2025, Japanese cellist Yuya Mizuno made history as the first Asian musician to win First Prize in the cello category at the 76th Prague Spring International Music Competition, where he was also honored with four special prizes.
Mizuno completed his Master’s degree at the Mozarteum University Salzburg under the tutelage of Clemens Hagen. Prior to that, he earned a Soloist Diploma from the Toho Gakuen School of Music, studying with Sumiko Kurata, and received further artistic guidance from Miklós Perényi at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest.
His performance career includes appearances at leading festivals such as the Budapest Spring Festival, Mozartwoche, Pacific Music Festival Sapporo, Takefu International Music Festival, and Chanel Pygmalion Days.
Mizuno has participated in masterclasses with some of the world’s most renowned cellists, including Frans Helmerson, Ivan Monighetti, Miklós Perényi, David Geringas, and Mario Brunello.
He has garnered numerous accolades in international competitions. In 2024, he won First Prize at the Enrico Mainardi Competition. He also received First Prize and the Audience Award at the 13th Tokyo Music Competition, as well as First Prize and four special prizes at the 89th Music Competition of Japan.
As a soloist, Mizuno has performed with prominent orchestras such as the Prague Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra, Osaka Symphony Orchestra, and Kyoto Symphony Orchestra.
He has been awarded scholarships and fellowships from distinguished institutions including the International Music Academy in Liechtenstein, the Dresden Music Festival, the Ezoe Memorial Recruit Foundation, and the Rohm Music Foundation. Mizuno is also a core member of the Japan National Orchestra, led by pianist Kyohei Sorita.
His debut album, featuring Kodály’s Sonata for Solo Cello and Chopin’s Cello Sonata, was released in 2023.
He performs on a 1710 Pietro Giacomo Rogeri cello, generously loaned by the Suntory Foundation for the Arts, and a bow by F. Tourte, on loan from the Sumino Collection.
